The Marguerite Bourgeoys Historic Site and Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel, in the heart of Old Montreal, is home to a history museum dedicated to the life and work of Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys, Montreal’s first teacher. In addition to the work of this pioneer of the new world presented in the form of a thematic tour, one can visit a vault dating from the 18th century and discover First Nations artifacts unearthed during archaeological digs on the site.
