CONCEPT

Basin located near Valleyfield’s downtown, measuring 30m by 100m. It has a very enviable location, and in a very pleasant environment especially during summertime. The pool serves as a support for several summer events. This semi-permanent proposal is part of the summer activities launch.

The idea is to recreate a spontaneous emergence on the basin, as nature often proposes it to us. Elements emerge from the water to form clusters with a random appearance.

EXPERIENCE

The distribution of emerging elements is disseminated throughout the basin. More dense groupings will be provoked like small natural islands.

In the evening, the stems light up to offer a quiet and bucolic night landscape on the basin. The spectators are attracted by the gradual and evolutive light effect. The colorimetry of the light evolves during the evening.

During the day, visitors are called upon by this installation with its spontaneous and natural look. These stems on the water are subject to weather conditions. They are animated, for example, by the wind. They participate in the visual activity of the basin.

In addition to the emergent part of the installation, bright wires appear underwater to reveal the luminous origin. Visitors wonder and marvel at the light animation of the pool. As for the day, the installation is subject to climatic conditions that encourage global movement and the appearance of multiple reflections on the water.
