Roseaux
The inspiration for Roseaux came from a wind-swept spot that was to become a sea of people during coming events. The poetry of a bed of broad-leafed cattails (marsh reeds) lulled by the wind held the visual appeal of an experiential destination that could be adapted to its location. In contrast to the long, graceful stems topped by a spike-shaped inflorescence, we wanted to create playful and very techno, almost urban reeds. “Particip’active” and interactive, Roseaux was designed to get users moving while having fun and to tickle their competitive spirit, in a colorful and luminous universe to be contemplated day and night.
Composed of individual stems that rise to the sky, the installation Roseaux invites the public to infuse colorful rhythms that travel to the top of the stems. The light and sound interactivity is based on the arrangement of the color ranges of the color wheel. The construction of the melody is increased tenfold by an association of luminous colors. The users modulate the whole according to their speed and agility, creating a total effervescence of the reed. Whether alone or in groups, on one, two or six reeds, users create a unique atmosphere with each passage. In standby mode, light and sound pulsations call for activation, while animating the place in a poetic way.
