Sombrilla

As part of the Montreal Latin festivities of the Village Au pied du courant UDO and 1ToMn have imagined and realized a colorful and totally immersive sombrilla. When he ventures under the umbrella, the user feels surrounded by a rain of light as vibrant and joyful as the music of the different groups playing throughout the evening.

The large size umbrella is made up of over 1800 strands of optical fiber generating a scripted LED light. A simple interaction is created by the attraction of users to take the light strands and swing them creating a wind-blown luminous rain.
