Tunnel Louis HippolyteLa fontaine

The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Bridge-Tunnel was inaugurated on March 11, 1967 and connects the South Shore to the island of Montreal. Every day, approximately 120,000 vehicles use the bridge-tunnel.

The MTQ (Ministère des Transports – Gouvernement du Québec) has implemented a major rehabilitation project for the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Bridge-Tunnel so that this infrastructure can continue to play its key role in the mobility of people and goods. The MTQ goal is to ensure the structure’s longevity for approximately 40 years without any other major intervention. This will allow the infrastructure to reach a durability similar to the average for this type of infrastructure, which is about 100 years. UDO designs and realizes the architectural lighting of existing elements, as well as the lighting signature of a new structure.
